LGBT Detroit’s mission is to activate, amplify, and sustain LGBT+ culture, education, advocacy, and human rights.

Brother to Brother

LGBT Detroit provides a safe space for HIV+ men as well as a space for HIV- men to encourage them to stay negative with Brother 2 Brother.

BROTHER TO BROTHER

LGBT Detroit provides a safe space for HIV+ men as well as a space for HIV- men to encourage them to stay negative. Brother 2 Brother (B2B) creates safe and secure opportunities for queer men to address the sexual practices that increase the risk of contracting HIV.

The group discussions assist the participants in addressing the behaviors of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases; sexual relationship dynamics; and the social and psychological influences that racism and homophobia have on HIV risk behaviors. The gatherings include guided meetings, community outreach, resource/information tables at local events, and increased access to testing.

On March 26, 2020 B2B transitioned to virtual programming with the creation of The Brother to Brother Lockdown. It features influencers from across the country who engage viewers in discussions on issues impacting Black and Brown queer men.
